Auch auf die Frage, wie man am, einfachsten eine HTML-Fassung eines Textes neben einer identischen Klartext-Version pflegt, gibt es viel einfachere Antworten als solche, die Konvertierungssoftware oder lynx --dump oder sonstige esoterische Vorgehensweisen benötigen:

Set up the HTML for the site itself and upload it, then simply save it from the page as a text file, using the browser file command. That file has just the text, not the HTML. However, because of that, it also won’t have any of the actual links, just the visible text to click on for the link.

So to get around that, when I do the HTML, I bury a second copy of the link URL in the body of the text, with the text colored the same as my background, shrunk in size if necessary to blend in the layout (I usually put it at the end of the paragraph to make life easier), and no associated link label to appear on the page and get picked up by the text file.

Dass es tatsächlich Leute gibt, die Konfigurationsdateien oder gar HTML-Dokumente ausgerechnet mit Word bearbeiten (und oft gar nicht wissen, dass das keinen Klartext, also text/plain, erzeugt, sondern ein wahres Monstrum an Formatierungen, auch bei einfachsten Texten, und/oder Notepad und WordPad nicht kennen), konnte ich nie so recht glauben, habe es aber befürchtet.

Folgenden Text aber ausgerechnet auf einer FAQ-Maintainer-Mailingliste lesen zu müssen lässt mich dann doch wieder ein Stück den Glauben an die Menschheit verlieren:

Funny, I thought that creating text documents was its purpose, but I recognize not only the unique attributes it adds, but the disdain some people want to have for anything made by Microsoft.
